It seems that in the last few months there is growing group of people very uneasy at 13% property price gains and not convinced its good for them or the owners or the country.

I would avoid anything that may appear political i.e. Gvt using tax money for...etc as anything that protects the house is considered GOOD.

Maybe add in small letters - "Book now for the 2020 walk with Rory Robertson, ask me how"

I believe al49er is right. The message is simple - "get the truth about the debt".

Let's leave personal attacks and all the fiddling, hair splitting and playing intellectual games to the specialists.

Steve, to me there are 3 types of people who are following you:

1. Those think you're right, no matter how wrong you get it. (Most of the people on this blog!)

2. Those think you're wrong, no matter how right you get it. (Rory, Pascoe and co)

3. Those who are not sure and can still be convinced either way (the bulk of people out there, which includes myself).

You should be aiming your t-shirts (and the walk) at group 3 Your current designs smack of sour grapes, and will lose you the respect of this group.

Hence, I agree with pragmatist:

“I was hopelessly wrong on house prices: Ask me how…”
“… the government is using your tax dollars to send us further into debt.”

With a massive "debtdeflation.com" or "keenwalk.com". Your websites are a great asset and offer more than enough info for those in group 3 who want to find out more.

Steve, essentially what got you to this walk is your honesty and integrity, qualities that are absent in the discussion from Rory Robertson, Chris Joye, Michael “Wacko” Pascoe et al.

There is nothing that you got "hopelessly wrong", you got 'conned in a bet', in good faith to your own integrity you are 'walking the walk' (in more ways than one).

As 'Pragmatist', 'GG' are confirming, your 'message/s' (especially on your T-shirts) should be simple, punchy AND
POSITIVE.

These bozos are doing a great disservice to everyone who listens to them. They have no meaningful score on the board.

You on the other hand are '1 in 13', not in Australia -
in the WORLD.

Steve Keen - Australia's World Economics Champion

"Bring it on. Step up to a debate if you are game!"

Steve, don't stuff around - this is where you are at, this is what you are prepared to do (debate anyone in an open forum)

' step forward if you want to take me on - and get the full truth'

 THIS IS THE MESSAGE.

Mate...I agree on let the market decide. Wear the one that suits you...and carry the bestseller along just in case.

You might even be right before you end the walk :
http://www.zerohedge.com/article/another-record-treasury-mortgage-spread-just-took-out-60-bps-support

The recognition of the first crisis came all of a sudden,February 7 2007, when Countrywide had to confess they cooked the books for 3 previous quarters...but since the 4th quarter is audited they needed to come upfront on that...and all hell gates started to get unhinged.

I am convinced we are not far...

Hi Steve,
I second the comment about dropping the pedantry. It's great that you are copping it sweet and honouring a bet. If you can utilise this to help homeless people with the swags, then that is even better. You have enough respect and support from people that there is no need to explain yourself, IMHO. As a communications tool for the media, I think the charts are very bad. Personally I reckon the sight of you wearing a T shirt with only the words in the bet and a big smile would get more support and interest. Robertson and Joye have a lot more to lose than you if you turn out to eventually be right. They will look like proper clowns.

Hi Steve
Your comment "I also don't want people to beable to read them at a glance."
"I want them to work at it!"
Steve stay the course I actually like it.
You are trying to teach people non linear thinking Benoit Mandlebrot.
Create worlds within worlds moving changing artistic.
Non linear small effects can have massive unexpected consequences example straw that broke the camels back.
These T shirts may eventually help stop the corrupt massive ponzi scheme.
As for the moral high ground you walk your talk.
No simple mathematical ideas in economics!

Hi Steve,

A suggestion for the T-shirts. Instead of graphs, any way to use a picture of Bernanke, Geithner or Greenspan? Maybe that would get the point across better? Or, a picture of Rudd or the current Finance Minister instead?

Catho,

“I was hopelessly wrong on house prices: Ask me how…”

The answer is simple:

"The Government rigged the market by triggering the first home owner grant frenzy. The borrowed money stimulated the economy and pushed up the prices. Now first home buyers have to repay the debt and the prices will fall anyway".

Going personal is not only counterproductive but it may be dangerous for Steve.

These guys will be the hitmen. They know how to do the dirty job. Good luck - we deserve this. Go Barnaby...
