Steve,

You have a starring role at http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2010/03/7-questions-about-public-banking.html

While the Americans clearly have a problem with their Federal Reserve it seems we still have a problem with our Reserve Bank which still appears to operate under the assumption that they are in control of the money supply through changing the official interest rate.

Perhaps we should have State Public Banks to direct loans to more productive activities, like state infrastructure, than these asset inflating schemes that our financial engineers dream up.

NBN /Telstra news and comments go to ZDnet. They examined Sol's record.

One commentator got the effects of the GFC on the NBN before the government; http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/communications/soa/Economic-crisis-has-made-NBN-unviable-/0,130061791,339292869,00.htm

Also, how does Telstra feel about Rudd's National Broadband Network plan? I heard the up and download speeds would be some of the best in the world.

That being said, you can't fault him for that (despite all the other economic stuff happening).

I'm curious about Telstra. I've heard lots of bad things about Sol Trujillo when he headed it. But was there 1 GOOD thing that he did in his tenure there?
